Found My Animal

Growing up in the late 80s/early 90s, I’ve always had a passion and respect for the DIY scene. There is nothing that I enjoy more than seeing passionate people take matters into there own hands by starting record labels, clothing lines or by hand making dog leashes and collars. Here at S+B, we are lucky enough to be able to showcase some artists who embrace those ideals as well. Brooklyn’s own FOUND MY ANIMAL is one of them. Found My Animal is an awesome company that makes unbelievable dog leashes and collars with the intent of helping to raise awareness for animal adoption. Found My Animal donates 25% of all of the profits to the Louis Animal Foundation, which helps to spray/neuter as well as find homes for needy dogs and cats. All of the collars are made here in Brooklyn and the leashes are all handmade by New England rope-makers. Simply put, the craftsmanship is unbeatable.

BELSTAFF - Homage to its past

Last week Belstaff shipped us two new wax cotton jackets, the Sammy Miller and a reissue, of their 1950s Trailmaster jacket. The unbelievable classic look and craftsmanship of these jackets sparked a curiosity in me about the history of the Trailmaster and in particular motorcycle legend Sammy Miller. To borrow from George Thoroughgood's popular 80's song, Sammy Miller is as "Bad to the Bone" as they come. He entered and won his first Trials race in 1953 and went on to win the Hurst Cup thirteen times, the Walter Rusk eighteen times, seven times winner of the world famous "Scot Trial" race, and the list goes on. He also is a world-renowned bike builder and has developed bikes for Ariel, Bultaco and Honda. He is now well into his 70's and continuous to ride, race and build motorcycles. No wonder why Belstaff gave him his own jacket.

Smith+Butler Exclusive Pointer Brand Fisher Chore Jacket

This jacket is a Smith+Butler favorite. We were somehow lucky enough to have Pointer make it exclusively for S+B. It is made out of the same fisher stripe material that made the chore jackets of the 40's and 50's so famous. It looks and feels awesome, fits great and is the perfect everyday jacket . So I would like to say thanks to Pointer and give them a BIG out loud hand clap for making us such an unbelievable jacket.
