One of the coolest things about Smith+Butler is the owners' commitment to bringing in only the highest quality items possible. With these Aero jackets, I feel they have truly outdone themselves. This week we received two of Aero's tanned horsehide leather jackets, the Indian Ranger and the Highwayman.
The Indian Ranger jacket was inspired from Indian motorcycles 1951 "Ranger" jacket. Aero spared no expense with their version of this classic jacket. Everything from the belt to the mixture of brass and nickel fastening hardware, to the American Horsehide used that is the exact weight of the original. Truly amazing!
Like the Indian Ranger, the Highwayman was inspired from the motorcycle jackets of the 50s. To keep it old school, the Highwayman has a 2" waistband and brass zips for closure.
Both jackets were made using American tanned horsehide. Not only is horsehide more durable than cowhide, it is also naturally waterproof.
For your conscience, all of the hides used are from horses who died of natural causes.
